School of International Business and Economics held a briefing on the 2024 Summer Short-term Study Programme

To broaden students' international perspectives and create a good international campus atmosphere, the School of International Trade and Economics (SITE) held a briefing on the 2024 Summer Short-term Study Programme in the lecture hall of Yizhen Building on March 20th. Around 50 undergraduate and graduate students and staff teams of the SITE attended the lecture. Vice Dean Wang Shubai delivered a speech, and Xu Tao Director of International Office, faculty member Chen Qianru, and E-commerce student Zhang Yiqi were invited to share.

At the beginning of the presentation, Wang Shubai highlighted the importance of the summer study programme and the school's great attention and support to the students' learning growth and practical ability cultivation. He said that the summer short-term programme is a good opportunity for cross-cultural exchange and learning, as well as a useful preparation for studying abroad in the future. As students of School of International Business and Economics, we should have an international mindset and perspective, and hope that students will actively participate in this kind of programmes and strive to broaden their international horizons and improve their comprehensive qualities.

Xu Tao introduced University Negeri Jakarta in Indonesia (UNJ) to the students, highlighting the summer study program and KNB SCHOLARSHIP program. He mentioned that JUFE and UNJ established strategic partnership in 2023 and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation. This summer study program provides an opportunity for in-depth exchanges and learning between the teachers and students of the two universities. The program offers various activities such as campus visits, cultural experiences, and cross-cultural exchanges. Students can have direct interactions with UNJ's students and faculty, as well as a close encounter with the local culture. The presentation sparked significant interest among the students.

 

Chen Qianru presented the 14-day summer school program of the University of Cambridge in the UK, and Zhang Yiqi also shared his experience in the school's short-term study program from the previous year, whose vivid sharing resonated with the students.


Later on, the staff further answered the inquiries and questions about the short-term study programmes for the students, and many of them made pre-registrations for the programmes.


The School of International Business and Economics has always adhered to the concept of cultivating high-quality international talents with international vision and innovative spirit, strengthening international exchanges and co-operation, and providing students with broader academic horizons and more opportunities for studying and exchanging abroad. In the future, the school will also continue to pay attention to students' personal growth and career development, so that they can better adapt to the development needs of the era of globalization.
