Rector of the University of Danube, Romania, was Invited to Give a Lecture at JUFE

On October 21st, Prof. Steve O. Michael, Rector and CEO of Danube University, Romania, was invited to give a lecture on "Education for Global Leadership: Importance of the Study Abroad Experience" to the master's and doctoral students majoring in international business and international trade. Wu Zhaoyang, Dean of the School of International Trade and Economics, Zhang Xifeng, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, and more than 100 domestic and foreign students attended the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Wu Zhaoyang.

Professor Michael highlighted the value and importance of studying abroad in terms of resume enhancement, cross-cultural communication, global perspective and career development. He emphasized that study abroad is not only a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but also an important way to shape global leaders. Finally, he predicted the future trends of globalization and study abroad, emphasizing the impact of study abroad on strengthening global integration, promoting regional trade, digital economy and sustainable development, etc. In the future, more and more students will study across disciplines, schools and countries. He also encouraged active participation in overseas study, recognizing that study abroad is not only about academic enhancement, but also encompasses multifaceted experiences and opportunities in life that can provide valuable assets for future growth.

At the lecture, Prof. Michael also shared the various forms of study abroad and emphasized the positive impact of the study abroad experience on students' global perspectives and career prospects; at the same time, he offered suggestions to address barriers to study abroad and shared how to apply for scholarships to help students realize their dreams of studying abroad;

Prof. Michael also encouraged the participants to think deeply, "Studying abroad is not just a way to gain knowledge, it is a door to understanding the world. Students will be confronted with new cultures and new ways of thinking, and at the same time, they will get to know themselves deeply. In the era of globalization, we need more global leaders, more people who can promote cultural exchange and solve global problems."
