Deng Hui attended the opening ceremony of Seminar on Financial Management for Developing Countries

On the afternoon of July 1st, the opening ceremony of Seminar on Finance and Economics Management for Developing Countries sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and jointly organized by Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and Jiangxi College of Foreign Studies, was held in our university. Deng Hui, President of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and Huang Xueqin, first level researcher of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Office of Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province, attended the ceremony and addressed speeches. Rao Jianhua, Party Committee member of Jiangxi College of Foreign Studies, Yang Yong, director of the International Cultural Exchange Center of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and 47 participants from 18 countries including Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka and Kenya, attended the ceremony online. The ceremony was hosted by Wu Zhaoyang, Dean of the School of International Economics and Trade.

On behalf of JUFE, Deng Hui expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce and the Department of Commerce for their long-standing recognition and trust in the school, and extended a warm welcome to the participants of the seminar. Deng Hui introduced the situation and philosophy of the university, and emphasized its rich experience in high-level and influential leadership training. He said that cooperation among developing countries is becoming more and more important as the world is going through a century of unprecedented changes, facing major challenges such as WTO reform, transformation of the global financial system, food and natural resource crises, digital technology development and global epidemics. According to Deng, the seminar aims to strengthen participants' systematic study of finance and economic management knowledge, to further strengthen communication and cooperation between China and other developing countries in the field of finance and economic, and to jointly promote bilateral economic and trade exchanges and the stable and healthy economic development of each country. In the end, Deng Hui expressed his hope that the participants would cherish the opportunity to continuously improve comprehensive management ability, put the training results into practice and play a more active role in national economic construction, and contribute their wisdom and strength to global development and cooperation.

On behalf of Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province, Huang Xueqin extended congratulations on the opening of the seminar. She said that foreign-aid training is a meaningful practice for the Chinese government to actively build a community with a shared future for mankind, promote high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, and carry forward the glorious tradition of foreign aid. The seminar will make more useful contributions to the training of finance and economic management talents in developing countries and build a new platform for closer friendly relations between China and developing countries.

Mr. GICHIUMBECHRISKIMATHI, an official of Financial Planning Bureau from Kenya, and Ms. KAMOTIRUKIA, an Official of Ministry Tourism Development, spoke on behalf of the participants online. They highly appreciated the important role played by the Chinese government in foreign aid, especially in promoting the connectivity of developing countries, and thanked the Ministry of Commerce and Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics for giving them the valuable opportunities to learn professional knowledge. They said that they would cherish the opportunity to have in-depth exchanges and make common progress with the participants from all over the world.

Due to the global epidemic, this seminar will be held online for 21 days. Even were meeting online, the 47 participants still had high expectations and enthusiasm for this seminar, everyone is voluntarily to thumb up to take a group photo to remember this moment. During the seminar, participants will participate in lectures and discussions, and visit relevant enterprises and traditional cultural venues in Jiangxi online to experience the rapid development of China's economy and the extensive and profound nature of China's excellent traditional culture.

Since September 2008, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics began to organize the foreign aid training program sponsored by Ministry of Commerce China for government officials from developing countries. The School of International Economics and Trade has completed 21 short-term training programs, including financial risk management, financial management, teachers’ training program, steel enterprise management, advanced financial management, budgeting management. The topic of the training programs is gradually diversified. The participation countries have expanded from Asian and African countries to Europe, South America, Oceania and other countries. The programs have trained more than 700 government officials at the provincial department level and ministerial level and for nearly 90 developing countries and international organizations.
