On the afternoon of October 13, 2021, the online opening ceremony of "2021 Seminar for Senior Iron &Steel Industry Executives of Developing Countries" sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, organized by Jiangxi Vocational College of Foreign Studies and co-organized by Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics was held in the South District of Jiaoqiao Garden.Prof. Liu Xiaoli, vice-president of JUFE;and Mr. Wang Jian, director of the division of foreign investment and economic cooperation, the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi province attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.Prof. Zhou Lushui,Vice Director of Jiangxi College of Foreign Studies,Prof. Wu Zhaoyang, Dean of School of International Trade and Economics of JUFE And 27 participants from Mongolia, Laos, Pakistan and Bangladesh attended the ceremony.The activity was hosted by Prof.Huang Xianming,Vice dean of School of International Trade and Economics of JUFE.
Liu Xiaoli gave a warm welcome to the participants in her speech. She introduced the situation of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, demonstrated the good social function of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics in quality education and serving local economic development, and emphasized the rich experience of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics in training high-level and influential leading cadres.She expressed the hope that through the study of this seminar, the participants will further strengthen their systematic understanding of the management knowledge of the steel industry, and apply what they have learned to their practical jobs in the future, so as to closely communicate, exchange and cooperation with China and other countries in the steel industry, and jointly promote multilateral economic and trade exchanges and development.
Wang Jian, on behalf of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Commerce, congratulated the opening of the seminar and pointed out that the seminar is a manifestation of the foreign aid commitment made by President Xi Jinping at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.The seminar will help participants from different countries gain a better understanding of Xi Jinping’s thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, experience China's great achievements in the 40-plus years of reform and opening-up, deepen their understanding of China's experience and Model, and build a platform for promoting friendly relations between developing countries.
Imtiaz Ahmad, a student representative from Pakistan, spoke through the Internet. He highly appreciated the important role played by the Chinese government in foreign aid, especially in promoting the connectivity of developing countries. He said that he would cherish this opportunity to have in-depth exchanges and make progress together with the students from all countries.
Affected by the global epidemic, the seminar will be held online for 21 days. During the study, students will not only enrich their knowledge by participating in special lectures and seminars, but also visit iron and steel related enterprises and traditional cultural scenic spots to feel the rapid development of China's iron and steel industry and the extensive and profound of China's excellent traditional culture.
