To commemorate the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up and celebrate the 40th anniversary of our university (95th since founding), series of lectures for the Fifth International Economic and Trade Forum were held on May 22, 2018.
Lu Yi, a professor at Tsinghua University and Cheung Kong Scholar, made a report about empirical research methods at the lecture hall of the information center.
The activity was presided over by the chief professor Xu Tongsheng from School of International Economics and Trade with the participation of more than 100 teachers and graduate students..
The lecture was demonstrated by three aspects: conception, recognition and explanation.  He stressed the importance of profound conception which needs to reflect what is important and why, as well as what we can do for it. Subsequently he went into great details on how to select and learn from articles.
It was a wonderful and inspiring lecture that many students actively communicated and interacted with professor Lu, which has significantly broadened their horizons and encouraged them to work harder on academic study.
